Edward F. Stein, O.D.

I graduated from Illinois College of Optometry. I am certified for Therapeutic and Diagnostic Pharmaceuticals. I am a past president of the Metropolitan Detroit, Oakland County, and Michigan Optometric Societies.

I belong to numerous Optometric and community based organizations. In 1996 I was honored as the "Provider of the Year" for the Michigan and Great Lakes region of Head Start of America.

I am proud to be a husband, and the father of three wonderful daughters. I am proud of Optometry.The individual practitioners and organizations that I have had the good fortune to be involved with have enlightened me and enriched my carreer. I am extremely proud of the trust our patients show by allowing me and our staff to be their eyecare providers.

I have worked in the Optical profession my entire adult life. In college I studied Philosophy, which was fascinating, but alas, I had to make a living. As a young man I worked for two years in Hawaii at the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange Optical shop. I moved to California and worked for several firms in the San Francisco Bay area.

I returned to the Detroit Area in 1985 and rejoined the Family Firm. I've fit and repaired eyewear for every size and shaped individual from one side of the country to the the other. It's always been fun and personally fulfilling. Just because a style is in, doesn't mean you should be in it. "If I can't fix your glasses...they can't be fixed."
